Summer's warmth is still here, but the coziness of fall is just beginning. It's the perfect time to explore transitional varietals that shine on both sunny afternoons and crisp evenings.

For whites, Soave offers a refreshing balance of citrus and honeydew with a smooth almond finish, making it wonderfully versatile with food and ideal for late-summer evenings. Chenin Blanc, with its vibrant orchard fruit flavors and touch of honeyed richness, pairs beautifully with early fall favorites like roasted chicken or squash.

On the red side, Roja brings depth with dark cherry, leather, herbs, and oak - perfect for cooler nights and hearty meals. Oregon Pinot Noir captures the season changing with its light body, floral notes, and baking spice elegance. Cabernet Franc delivers earthy, herbal spice that feels like autumn in a glass, whether by the fire or rustic dishes. Grenache offers velvety indulgence with ripe red fruit and subtle spice.

Whiskey Del Bac made a custom label for us to release their very first Cask Strength Sentinel Rye single barrel. Bardstown Bourbon Company delivered Arizona's first-ever Rye single barrel alongside a rich bourbon that begs for another pour. And from 13th Colony Distilleries, we scored their limited cask-strength rye, available in small quantities.

Sonoita AVA (est. 1984) – Arizona’s first AVA, tucked into rolling grasslands. Boutique wineries here shine with Rhône-style reds, such as Syrah and Grenache, as well as refreshing Sauvignon Blanc.

Oak Barrels

Oak barrels do far more than store wine - they shape its flavor, texture, and aging potential. American oak, with its wider grain, tends to add bolder notes, such as vanilla, spice, and toast, while French oak imparts more subtle, layered aromas and structure.

Beyond the wood itself, winemakers can influence a wine's profile through the selection of barrel size, age, and level of toast. Smaller or newer barrels intensify the oak character, while lighter toasting preserves delicate notes, and heavier toasting adds richness, similar to that of coffee or caramel.

Ultimately, oak is about balance. The choice of barrel depends on the grape, the style, and the story the winemaker wants the wine to tell.

July 24th marks Shiraz Day, and this bold, flavor-packed red deserves its moment in the spotlight. Also known as Syrah, this varietal originates from the Rhône Valley in France but has gained a reputation worldwide, especially in Australia, where it's proudly referred to as Shiraz.

Rich, meaty, and full of character, Shiraz often bursts with notes of blackberry, plum, peppercorn, and dark chocolate. It's one of the darkest red wines available and is commonly blended with Cabernet Sauvignon for added depth.

July 12th is International Cava Day - the perfect reason to enjoy Spain's signature sparkling wine!

Often called the "Champagne in Spain," Cava is made mainly from Macabeo, Parellada, and Xarel-Lo grapes, with about 95% produced in Catalonia's Penedès region. Most Cava is Brut, offering crisp, citrusy, and floral notes. Typically aged around 9 months on the lees, it's bright and fresh, while vintage styles develop those nutty, toasty flavors we love.

About 75% of the world's Grüner is still grown in Austria, although you will also find it in places like the USA, Slovakia, and the Czech Republic.

National Prosecco Week kicks off June 2nd, and we are celebrating one of the world's favorite sparkling wines - Prosecco DOC! Crisp, refreshing, and always ready to party, prosecco is Italy's answer to everyday bubbles.

Made primarily from the Glera grape (with a splash of Pinot Nero for those beautiful Prosecco Rosés), this sparkling wine is produced using the Charmat Method, also known as the Italian Method, where the bubbles come to life in stainless steel tanks, not individual bottles like Champagne. The result? Fresh, vibrant, and incredibly drinkable.

Prosecco ranges from dry (Brut) to sweet (Demi-Sec), with the most common style - Extra Dry - offering a touch of softness and up to 17g/L of residual sugar. May 24 marks the anniversary of the legendary Judgement of Paris —the 1976 blind tasting that changed the wine world forever.

Organized in Paris by British wine merchant Steven Spurrier, the event was meant to celebrate the American Bicentennial by showcasing California wines alongside top French Bordeaux and Burgundies. To everyone’s surprise , the French judges ranked several California wines at the top, including Chateau Montelena Chardonnay 1973 and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars Cabernet 1973. It was a defining moment that proved California could compete with the best.

Celebrate National Malbec Day - Thursday, April 17th

Next Thursday marks National Malbec Day, a celebration of one of the most beloved red varietals in the world. This date commemorates the founding of Argentina's first agronomy school, where European grape varieties - Malbec included - were studied.

While Malbec originated in France, it has found its home in Argentina. Today, France's Cahors region maintains around 15,000 acres of Malbec, while Argentina boasts over 50,000 acres, making it the global leader in Malbec production.

Argentina Malbecs are known for their deep, inky color and rich black fruit flavors. They offer a smooth, velvety mouthfeel and softer tannins that make them incredibly approachable. Even without the bold structure of their French counterparts, many Argentina Malbecs age beautifully.

This barrel pick is something special—Paladar Reposado, crafted from 100% additive-free agave, aged a minimum of 7 years, and fermented in open-air pine boxes with wild and proprietary yeast. But here's the twist: instead of the usual ex-bourbon casks, our exclusive barrel was aged in Tempranillo wine cakes, adding a whole new dimension of flavor.

Beer Madness

Our 2nd Annual Beer Madness is finally here!

Get ready to dive into the excitement of our 2nd Annual Beer Madness— Hazy IPA edition .

There will be blind taste tests and head-to-head matchups, and you will be the ultimate judge. You will be treated with 2.5oz pours, each representing a different brewery. Cast your votes, and move on to the next round of tastings - rinse and repeat until we are down to the last round. You will cast your votes in the final round, and a Beer Madness Champion will be crowned. After the winner is announced, you can enjoy a pint of any beer featured in Beer Madness.

How it Works

Each beer will be presented incognito, marked only by a number. The blind taste test adds an extra layer of excitement to the experience. And what's a beer tasting without some mouthwatering food from Smoke Slab BBQ to complement it?

Gather your friends and drinking buddies, and let's raise our glasses to celebrate Local Beer and some friendly competition!

Husch Vineyards is a third-generation family-owned vineyard and winery in Anderson Valley, CA. They have been practicing sustainable, no-till farming for four decades, and Trevor's carries a few of their wines in store. The Husch Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, and Chenin Blanc will cool you down as the temperatures rise.

The Chenin Blanc is the perfect off-dry white to keep your taste buds guessing. It has layered aromas of juicy pear, honeysuckle, citrus zest, and lychee. Enjoy this, or invite it to the table with your sushi, stuffed mushrooms, grilled chicken, or lamb kebabs

The Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect match with a citrus salad, fish tacos, or a spicy Thai dish. It is light and zippy, with aromas of pineapple, guava, melon, and gooseberry. Pop the cork on this wine for any 90-degree day next week!
