Shiraz Day is coming - let's celebrate!
July 24th marks Shiraz Day, and this bold, flavor-packed red deserves its moment in the spotlight. Also known as Syrah, this varietal originates from the Rhône Valley in France but has gained a reputation worldwide, especially in Australia, where it's proudly referred to as Shiraz.
Rich, meaty, and full of character, Shiraz often bursts with notes of blackberry, plum, peppercorn, and dark chocolate. It's one of the darkest red wines available and is commonly blended with Cabernet Sauvignon for added depth.
Looking to celebrate? Some of our favorites include Saldo Shiraz from California, Mother Tongue Barossa Shiraz from Australia, and Hedges Dupont Syrah from Washington.
